WHAT YOU'LL DO:
PETA is hiring a Media Buyer to secure placement of high impact, thought-provoking advertising via various mediums including outdoor, print news media, TV, radio, and other innovative forms of offline advertising to advance animal rights. You'll manage offline advertising placement projects from initiation to completion, develop and implement strategies for generating powerful, timely ad placements to raise awareness about animal rights issues, establish and maintain relationships with sales representatives and negotiate reduced-rate or free placements, determine impact of various advertising options and make recommendations based on these determinations, and create and maintain detailed records of all projects.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Degree in related field or two years experience working in professional environment, interest in advertising and public relations, proven excellent project-management, strategic-thinking, and analytical skills, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capability to make connections and maintain relationships with variety of people in professional manner, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, meet and set deadlines, and stay organized, proven ability to take initiative and follow-through, ability to make sound judgments and work independently and as part of team, demonstrated problem-solving skills with consistent pattern of proactively suggesting solutions, knowledge of animal rights issues and campaigns and desire to pursue career in animal rights, adherence to healthy vegan lifestyle, support for PETA's philosophy and ability to professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues, and commitment to objectives of the organization.
