ROLE SNAPSHOT
Allstate is hiring a Managing Counsel, Claims to serve as a senior in-house legal advisor within its Claims Matter Counseling (CMC) team, part of the Business Law & Compliance Property Liability practice group. This role provides high-impact legal guidance to the Claims Organization on complex, high-exposure insurance claims before litigation begins.
The position focuses on mitigating legal risk related to coverage issues, bad faith exposure, and extra-contractual liability while enabling efficient claims handling and reducing reliance on outside counsel. The Managing Counsel partners closely with claims professionals and leadership, delivers legal training, prepares attorney conditional demand responses, and advises on emerging legal risks across assigned states.
This is a non-supervisory, senior individual contributor role ideal for an experienced insurance attorney who wants to operate at the intersection of legal strategy and business decision-making within a large, established organization.
